The Hooglander Gravel Festive is an exciting cycling event that invites participants to explore the scenic landscapes of Aarle-Rixtel. Starting at the De Couwenbergh event center, riders can choose from three distances: 50, 80, or 100 kilometers. The carefully designed routes, available in GPX format, traverse unpaved paths and roads, leading cyclists through lush forests, heathlands, and alongside picturesque canals and rivers. Aarle-Rixtel, part of the Laarbeek municipality, is renowned for its natural beauty and cultural heritage, including the historic Kasteel Croy. Midway through the journey, participants can take a well-deserved break at a designated rest area, where coffee, tea, and a variety of snacks are available. This pause not only rejuvenates the riders but also enhances the overall experience of the event. The combination of physical challenge and the opportunity to enjoy refreshments in a beautiful setting makes this event truly special. Upon completing the ride, cyclists are welcomed at the Schenk festival grounds, where they receive a glass and tokens valued at €15. These tokens can be exchanged for a refreshing Hooglander beer, soft drinks, or a delicious hamburger. As participants unwind with their food and drinks, they can enjoy music from vinyl records, providing the perfect backdrop for sharing stories and camaraderie with fellow gravel enthusiasts.
