Pony Xpress Gravel 160 is a premier gravel race set in the breathtaking landscapes of Trinidad, Colorado, offering riders an unforgettable challenge in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Taking place on April 19, 2025, this event features three distances—160K, 85K, and a new 50K route—each designed to test riders’ speed, endurance, and mental toughness across rolling foothills, open plains, and historical mining areas. The 160K (100-mile) race has been restructured for 2025, now consisting of two laps of the 85K course, allowing riders to compete in both distances if desired. The 85K (50-mile) race has been designated the USACycling Colorado State Gravel Grinder Championship, requiring a USA Cycling license for participation. A brand-new 50K (30-mile) route provides an entry-level experience for riders new to gravel racing, featuring a shortened section of the longer course with no feed stations, requiring self-sufficiency. With elevations ranging from 6,000 to 8,800 feet, riders will tackle remote, low-traffic gravel roads with minimal pavement, ensuring an authentic and scenic gravel experience. Expect temperatures between 45°F and 78°F, with sheltered sections providing protection from wind. Limited entries are available, so sign up early to secure a spot in one of Colorado’s most exciting gravel races!
